James Avalon’s Sex Pix, the director’s second feature for Red Light District Films, goes before the cameras for four days beginning next week.

Red Light plans to release one story-line feature a month, beginning with James Avalon’s DarkSide in late August-early September. The premiere offering from the company’s new feature arm was shot on Super 16 film. But Sex Pix, like future features, will be produced in High Definition video.

Sex Pix, told Avalon, is a riff on the mainstream hit Memento. A girl wakes up naked in a motel room, with no memory of who she is or how she got there. She finds Polaroid shots of herself having sex and, Avalon said, “we keep flashing back until we find out what’s happening.”

Newcomer Sunny Lane takes the leading role. She also stars in New Sensations’ forthcoming Dark Angels 2 and worked with Avalon in a small role in DarkSide.

Kurt Lockwood plays the romantic lead who helps the heroine unravel her past. Also in the cast is Evan Stone, along with Hall of Fame actress Veronica Hart in a non-sex role.

In addition to shooting the new feature, Avalon is supervising the editing of DarkSide.
