Andrew Blake signs deal with AEBN

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

060829-002.jpgThe Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network, a global leader in adult video-on-demand, and erotic film luminary Andrew Blake today announced an agreement to offer Blake’s films exclusively through AEBN’s worldwide network of pay-per-view theaters.

Blake, the winner of numerous other accolades for his stylish erotic productions, has never ventured into the VOD market outside of his own website, AndrewBlake.com. This new deal now allows surfers to access his films online through AEBN.

“This really shows how much of a premium content provider AEBN is,” says AEBN’s business director, Michael Herman, noting that Blake’s content is often requested by his customers. “It also gives us an aggressive new edge in some other genres, such as the fetish niche.”

Jon Dough passes Away

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

060829-001.jpgJon Dough passed away on Sunday, Monique Demoan, his wife of 12 years told. Dough, whose real name was Chet Anuszek, was 43.

“I’ve been with Chet for 12 years. We have a four-year-old daughter,” Demoan said. “We lived together. I found Chet yesterday. … He did take his own life.”

Demoan, who met Dough when she worked with him in Ed Powers’ Dr. Butts 3, continued, “Chet was a very warm, loving person.

“We fell deeply in love. He treated me very well. He put me on a pedestal and gave me everything we need. I loved him being a big man, and being held in his arms. He made me feel very comfortable, very loved… He was everything to me. And I bear his only daughter.”

Dough was known as one of the most reliable studs in adult, enjoying the type of longevity that only a small number of top male performers have had during the past two decades. He began performing in 1985 and has appeared in several classic adult films, compiling well over 1,000 credits as an actor. He directed over 70 titles, most recently for VCA Excessive, Hustler, NJ Films and Anabolic. Dough also owned his own gonzo company, Jon Dough Productions, and had a line called Doughboy Video for oral-themed titles.

His sense of humor showed through in series such as Anabolic’s Ass Creampies, a line in which the girls got a plate of whipped cream in the face after the scene. During his most recent interview with AVN in the winter of 2005, Dough jokingly sang a few verses of a song about himself that he called the “Ass Cream Man.”

Fellow AVN Hall of Famer Ron Jeremy remarked, “I met Jon Dough way back. We went Europe a couple times together, and when you travel internationally with someone, you really get to know them.

“Jon was a great guy. He always had a good attitude, he was funny, and he was a fantastic performer. He would always defend his friends.

“Being in my seventh year as a contracted male performer for Metro, I understand that Jon paved the way for male contract performers, him being the very first guy, when he signed with Vivid. He paved the way for some of us, in that respect.”

Adult performer Brian Surewood knew Dough for over a decade, even before Surewood began performing.

“He’s always gave me phenomenal advice,” Surewood said. “I worked next to him in scenes hundreds of times. We were good friends. I knew he was going through some problems. I tried to help him out before with his problems.”

Dough, who grew up Pennsylvania, is also survived by his father and three sisters.

Producer/director Mike John said Monday that he got to know Dough about 10 years ago.

“He was just a really, really solid guy with a big heart,” John said. “We had a lot of common interests outside of the business. We used to go up to Mammoth snowboarding quite a bit, just regular stuff that people do.”

John continued, “He had a lot of problems… He bounced around a lot with deals. He was a strong-willed guy. It’s very surprising to me that he would go out like this. We all tried. He had a lot of people around him but I think he just isolated himself lately. I hadn’t talked to him in two months.”

John, one of the top gonzo shooters in adult, called Dough “a real innovator.”

“A lot of the things he did went on to get copied wildly. We were just all sitting around talking, [Erik Everhard and Dan Silver] and a bunch of us and we were saying he was one of the only guys to span the generations. There’s Tommy Byron, Marc Wallice, Ron Jeremy and Jon was one of those second generation guys. And to the last day, he was the only one who would get in the trenches with the new upstarts and show them what was up.

“As a shooter, he was always full of good ideas. … He was the real deal. He lived it. In the end though, I think it just wore him down. I’ve talked him back a million times.”

John said that Dough had aspirations of mainstream acting before he got into porn.

“He was doing some soap operas and he got an offer to do a Hustler layout. He could do it, it worked, and he got more and more calls. Before you knew it, he was in this,” John recalled. “Chet was kind of a wild guy. He was the first contract guy ever. That was something that had never been done before. Girls liked him and he was into having a good time.”

Vince Vouyer, co-owner of Vouyer Media and a 15-year adult industry veteran, knew Dough for about the last 14.

“Me and Chet weren’t hanging out having coffee, drinking beer together-type-of friends, but we had a lot of respect for each other throughout the years,” Vouyer told AVN.com. “We’ve always been good to each other. I’ve worked on a lot of projects with him over the years, some with Vivid, and he was one of the good guys in the business who I actually liked.

“Unfortunately, the past few years have been rough, and he’s had some dependency problems. I don’t know what led up to this. I haven’t been in touch. I tried to put him in some scenes in the past four months. He had been available and then he wasn’t available. He’s been calling me and I’ve been trying to get him in some scenes, but I hadn’t been able to reach him.”

Vouyer added, “He was definitely a good woodsman. I’ve never seen him have bad days.”

Producer/director Dan Silver, aka Dirty Dan, edited the last movie Dough shot, Ass Cream Man POV, in May. But Silver had known Dough since 1993, when Silver was a production manager for Vivid working with directors such as Paul Thomas and Bud Lee who were shooting Dough regularly. Silver shot and edited the promotional tape that touted Dough’s contract as a Vivid Man. It was about 10 years later that he became Dough’s editor.

“We spent a lot of time together in that editing bay and when you spend that kind of time together, he became more than just a client, he became a good friend,” Silver said.

“… He had a great heart. He was one of the few people in this or any business that I would trust looking after my kids. When he had some hard times, I’d lend him money. Maybe that was a bad thing, but I couldn’t say no.”

Silver said that when he was directing for Hustler that Dough was his first phone call for male talent.

“He was the consummate performer and I needed a strong male talent for the nasty gonzo stuff I was doing. There were very few people better than Chet. He could do a three-on-one no problem and he was always rock solid,” Silver continued.

“If I had to summarize Chet in a couple words, I would say ‘rock solid.’ That’s what’s so unbelievable about his death. Here was a man, a big-hearted guy, a strong man physically. It’s just so telling how insidious this drug is that it would make him so weak mentally. Even though we weren’t shocked by this, I’m really kind of surprised by how deeply saddened I am by his passing. My hopes and my prayers are with his wife and with his daughter.”

Ellie Shoes presents New Penthouse Collection

Friday, August 25th, 2006

060825-003.jpgEllie Shoes, Inc., in association with Penthouse Media Group Inc., is launching its “Penthouse Shoes” collection at the MAGIC Tradeshow convention in Las Vegas, this Monday through Wednesday.

Earlier this year, Penthouse Media Group Inc. (PMGI) signed an exclusive deal with Ellie Shoes, Inc. to design, manufacture and distribute the Penthouse Collection in the United States and Canada. Ellie’s team of designers worked closely with the PMGI Licensing group to come up with the line that currently has over 25 different styles of shoes and boots for consumers to choose from.

Adorned with a signature Penthouse Key rhinestone charm, each shoe is embossed with a metallic plaque that showcases the Penthouse name.

“We are all very excited about the new Penthouse collection,” said Ellen Renger, president of Ellie Shoes. “The reinvention is two-fold. We’re not only broadening our line with a new elegant assortment of shoes, but we’re adding to it with a brand that has international name recognition as well.”

Mark Rudolph, PMGI’s president of Licensing, said, “The team at Ellie Shoes is talented and dedicated…they are experienced at fashion trend forecasting, which led to their incorporation of the best materials, colors and designs for the Penthouse line.”

“While the Penthouse by Ellie line had a soft launch earlier this month at World Shoe Association, branded and non-branded buyers were equally excited about the styling,” added Renger. “The optimism is momentum for us since the entire Penthouse Shoe Collection will be available to ship in November of 2006.”

Cassia Riley, the Penthouse Pet of the Year Runner-Up 2006, will be appearing at the Ellie Shoes booth each day of the show, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. She will be wearing and showing off styles from the collection and will autograph headshots to guests who visit the Ellie booth.

Under the terms, Giant Mobile will deliver Teravision content to mobile phones worldwide in the form of ring tones, wallpapers, video clips, and various other adult-themed entertainment. “To have the hottest name in the adult industry available on your cell phone whenever you want will truly be extraordinary,” said Sean Nazemi, account executive for Giant Mobile.

“Their presence in the video game market, combined with their cutting edge technology and vast distribution network, made them our obvious choice to deliver Tera content in the mobile space.”

Initially, Giant will launch in Europe and South America with the content eventually coming to North America. Both parties will continue to support efforts made by the industry to prevent minors from purchasing inappropriate content.

Most recently, Patrick’s mainstream credits have included appearances on “Miami Ink,” MTV’s “Fast Inc.,” VH1’s “Supergroup,” and she has had her own monthly column in FHM since May of 2005.

Skye Blue featured in Lesbian Documentary

Friday, August 25th, 2006

060825-001.jpgSkye Blue, president and CEO of Platinum Blue Productions, will be featured in a documentary series set to air early next year on the Here! gay cable television network.

The six-part series, dubbed “Lesbian Sex and Sexuality,” is produced by filmmaker Katherine Linton and explores women’s sexuality by going into sex shops, erotic dance clubs and by interviewing various women, including some in the adult industry.

Blue said she enjoyed speaking candidly about her personal life and her professional life as head of an adult production company.

“Katherine let me feel comfortable with revealing all of the emotions I dealt with after coming out at 14 in the 1970s and then living in the center of the crisis that AIDS brought into the 80s,” she said.

“Although most of my deepest relationships have been with women, my perception of human sexuality is not gender biased.”

A one-time stripper turned adult performer, Blue is the founder of Platinum Blue and president of the mainstream-oriented Trashmouth Productions.

Tightfit opens New Studio

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

060822-002.jpgGonzo production house Tightfit Productions has opened its new studio and offices.

The new facility, at 7641 Burnet St., features six standing sets, including a kitchen set, bedrooms, living rooms and an all-purpose set, allows the company to shoot its material as well as rent out the facility to other production companies.

“We wanted to leverage the cost of moving to this building by also renting out the stages to other companies,” said Oren Cohen, Tightfit’s president and owner.

“In a controlled environment like this, you don’t have to worry about neighbors or making noise or anything like that.”

The new studio is also sound proof, eliminating the sound of aircraft from nearby Van Nuys Airport which mar many shoots at other local studios, Cohen said.

The 15,000-square-foot structure includes administrative offices, a lounge, dressing rooms, a kitchen and additional rooms that could be used for shooting or other activities. It also includes a 9,000-square-foot warehouse area.

“The great thing is that the sets are so large that you won’t have trouble moving around and getting different angles.”

Those interested in booking the location may go online to www.tightfitstudios.com, which features photographs and other information.

“We hope to add a jail set, a doctor’s office and a dungeon for fetish shoots,” Cohen said.

Besides shoots, Cohen also sees the studio as a potential site for industry parties and events.

The son of veteran magazine distribution executive Simon Cohen, Oren Cohen started Tightfit last year under his family’s Lucky Media distribution arm. The label recently broke away from Lucky Media and moved Lucky’s headquarters and into the new building to reflect its independence.

Veronica Jett featured in new Papa Roach Video

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

060822-001.jpgAdult starlet Veronica Jett is featured prominently in the new video for the single “…To Be Loved” by rock band, Papa Roach. Directed by Kevin Kerslake, Jett is showcased in the video, which shows the starlet getting out of a limousine to be led into a concert hall on her knees by a collar and chain leash.

“When the director was casting he came up to me and said ‘Can I put you in a dog collar?’” explained Jett. “And I said, ‘You can hang me from the ceiling and put a fist in my ass if you want.’ I guess that convinced him I was perfect for the part.”

Jett plays a prominent role in video as the action centers on her several times throughout the shoot. “I loved the experience and actually enjoyed being in front of the camera with such a gifted director- with my clothes on, for a change,” said Jett.

The video for “…To Be Loved,” which was shot in Los Angeles, will be released Wednesday exclusively on Yahoo! Music, and the song is receiving heavy airplay on popular rock radio station, KROQ. “…To Be Loved” is the first single off of Papa Roach’s newest album, The Paramour Sessions.

In the video, Jett wears her own t-shirt design that she sells on her website, veronicajettxxx.com. “I got to wear my shirt and the logo is featured prominently. I couldn’t be happier,” Jett added.

Jett said that she is also getting ready to travel to Puerto Rico the first week in September, for a 3 day shoot on the tropical island nation. “I am excited to see Puerto Rico and hope I have some down time to visit the beautiful beaches while I’m there.”

DCypher joins Club Jenna

Wednesday, August 16th, 2006

060816-002.jpgWriter/director DCypher signed an exclusive, two-year contract with Club Jenna Friday night calling for him to helm one feature per month during that time, with an option to extend the contract for a third year.

Still trying to absorb the magnitude of the deal over a diner brunch Sunday afternoon, Cypher commented, “I don’t think it’s fully settled in yet, completely what this means. We talked about it for a long time, but to see it come to fruition is just, like, ‘Holy shit, I just signed with Club Jenna?!’”

As to how precisely the deal came to pass, Cypher related, “Jay had been in town doing meetings with Playboy, since we’re owned by Playboy, and I got a call from his assistant, Linda Johnson, telling me [they] were ready to meet - we’ve been talking about a contract for a little while at this point, and we had hammered out our own details of what we wanted to do, but due to the acquisition by Playboy, we needed to just make sure everything was aligned properly still, and that we were still on the same page.

“Linda said, ‘We really want you as part of this family, we don’t want to lose you, so let’s get this done and wrap up our business.’ And I went down to Beverly Hills and met Jay, and it’s funny, Jay and I have always gotten along, we’ve always been friends, we always had kind of the same sense of retarded humor; we saw each other, we hung out for probably an hour before we even started talking about work. The contracts were there, we all knew what we wanted to do … we just sat and got into it, ’cause that’s the kind of vibe that they have. And then we went over it and signed the thing in like five seconds. We were both happy, because we worked out the details of what I will and won’t do, what my responsibilities are and how it’s all going to operate. But it was more like two good friends hanging out.”

DCypher has already shot his first title for Club Jenna, Fever Dream, doing so while pushing forward with his contract negotiations last month. “I knew I was gonna shoot a show with Club Jenna,” he explained, “because we’d talked about it, they had always been interested in working with me. Even before I signed with Metro [where he recently ended a one-year contract], they were interested in working with me, and had expressed that, so they were actually bummed that I had signed, because it took me away from something they were trying to do. But ultimately, they were glad, because it gave me the opportunity to kind of grow and explore things before I stepped up to that level.”

The artist told AVN.com that being with Club Jenna will allow him to fulfill the aspirations he’s always had in pornmaking, but not fully realized up to this point. “I’m finally able, due to where I’m at now, to take my narrative, to take a story porn that’s a real story, that’s not just a clumsy re-creation of something or a loose string of a storyline that props up five completely non sequitur sex scenes, [and] coalesce the story with that wall-to-wall visual style that you see from great directors like Andrew Blake or Laurent Sky or Celeste,” he said. “A perfect marriage of the two, in my opinion, that would be my favorite style of movie to watch. It seems like one always suffers, and I guess that’s my goal, to try to create a more perfect marriage of those two.”

It would seem that for DCypher, a nearing-10-year industry veteran, this deal signifies his official arrival as a major name. “For me, for a story porn director, it is the top, it’s the best thing that could happen to me,” he agreed. “And it’s very exciting. There’s no other company I would want to be signed to. This is like a fuckin’ dream. I’ve found my family, and now I’m home.”
