Jenna Jameson starts her directorial debut with “Jenna’s Provocateur”

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

060922-001.jpgClub Jenna is poised to release what it is calling the best movie it has ever produced, Jenna’s Provocateur, which is also the directorial debut of Jenna Jameson.

The feature stars six Club Jenna girls and was shot on film, another first for the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based studio.

“I think it’s pretty much the best movie ever released at Club Jenna,” said Club Jenna CEO Jay Grdina, aka director/performer Justin Sterling. “Jenna had a lot of great ideas, and coupled with a really great crew, it was unreal. All the girls watched the other girls’ scenes and they tried to outdo each other.”

Jameson directs the reigning Best New Starlet, McKenzie Lee, Jesse Capelli, Ashton Moore, Sophia Rossi, Chanel St. James and former Club Jenna star Krystal Steal in the movie which employs hard gonzo-style sex with high-end feature production values.

Jameson, who is traveling out of the country and was not available for comment at press time, also appears briefly on screen in some never-before-seen footage, Grdina confirmed.

“We also did a bonus disc,” he continued. “They followed us around the whole [AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Vegas], interviewing Jenna and showing the behind-the-scenes. It’s all Jenna and it’s the making of The Provocateur, and it’s the same guys who shot our reality show, so it’s done reality-show style.”

Jameson’s concept for the movie was “a Victoria’s Secret ad, plus one,” said Grdina, who was the lead videographer and editor on the project.

“It’s just pure, raw sex, with segues of composite, beautiful imagery and foreshadowing, prior to the scenes and after the scenes. I cut it totally different than anything we’ve ever done. It’s also original scored music from Spout. The music is unbelievable. Every scene looks like a music video and the scenes are on average 20 minutes. It’s one hour, 54 minutes long.”

The action starts with Lee taking on Ben English, Scott Nails and Marco Banderas in an all-anal, six-position throwdown in which she gets d.p.’ed. Then Rossi meets Evan Stone for what Grdina called “a great pounding scene.” Then Capelli tangles with Melissa Lauren in a strap-on scene before Moore does her first boy/girl scene in five years with reigning, two-time AVN Male Performer of the Year, Manuel Ferrara.

“She squirts in it. It was a ridiculous scene,” Grdina said, noting that Club Jenna shoots two hours of sex on film which is almost unheard of due to the costs associated with that medium.

That paves the way for Steal, who was the first Club Jenna girl, to get down with Barrett Blade in what Grdina said was “the best sex scene I’ve seen Krystal do.”

“It was no holds barred. Krystal threw down,” he said.

Then McKenzie Lee returns for a tryst with St. James, which was the starlet’s first ever scene.

“She’s never shot, never even taken her clothes off for modeling,” Grdina said. “As soon as we yelled action, Chanel says, ‘Suck my fucking dirty cunt you whore.’ At one point I had to put down the camera I was laughing so hard.”

Since this was a special project for Club Jenna, it warranted special packaging, so the company spared no expense and designed six different box covers – one with each Club Jenna girl prominently featured. Each movie features more bonus materials and footage with the girl who is on the cover. For instance, fans who buy the DVD with St. James on the cover will be treated to additional photo galleries, extra masturbation sequences and more behind-the-scenes moments with her.

“Jenna also did a commentary,” Grdina added. “We also put in an insert of a collector’s book.”

The buzz about Jameson’s anticipated debut behind the camera has not been lost on distributors, according to Howard Levine, national sales manager for Club Jenna’s distributor, Vivid, which is distributed by Pulse.

“My big distributor who is normally taking 500 out the door on a Jenna title is now taking 3,000, 500 of each,” Levine said.

Jenna’s Provocateur is mastered in HD and also features original costumes designed by Jameson and wardrobe specialist September Dawn, who also heads Exotic Star Models.

“I was really proud of Jenna,” Grdina, who recently separated from Jameson but remains “best friends” with her, remarked. “This was a big undertaking for us.”

Grdina said that Jameson’s signature is all over the movie, from how the girls are styled to the intensity of each sex scene. “And Jenna was instrumental in the performer pairings,” he added. “The energy was great. Everyone was amped. The girls wanted to put 180 percent into it. This is part of history.”

The movie will be released on Sept. 28. Club Jenna, Inc., founded in 2000, was acquired by Playboy in a blockbuster deal in June.

Ron Jeremy’s Autobiography will released on February 1, 2007

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

060921-002.jpgRon Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz” is the title, and February 1, 2007 is the scheduled date of release for what could be the mainstream crossover smash of next year from the adult world, the 352-page memoir of the one known as The Hedgehog, AVN Hall of Famer and living legend Ron Jeremy.

The book is being published by Harper Entertainment, a sub-division of Harper Collins, is being handled by top Harper Collins editors Joelle Yudin and Mauro DiPreta, and was co-authored by Eric Spitznagel, who recently penned another adult-related tome, “Fast Forward: Confessions of a Porn Screenwriter” (published by Manic D Press).

“It’s an autobiography that was written a long, long time ago,” Jeremy told in an exclusive interview. “I was dealing with Simon & Schuster and Kensington and a million other people, and I never approached them — I want to make it real clear — I didn’t approach them. But a couple of years ago, they approached me, but weren’t offering the kind of money that I thought would be fair. I know what people get, so I waited and waited and waited and waited, and finally, HarperCollins.”

As far as what readers have to look forward to, Jeremy promised, “We got a lot of new things in this book that people have absolutely no idea about. And there’s a lot of great photos. They got 60, 70 pictures of me and famous people, all along with little captions why I met them and how I met them.

“What makes my book, I guess, kind of interesting,” Jeremy continued, “is that the photos kind of back up the story. For example, when I tell a story of how John Holmes, when he read an article that I was like the star of the ’80s in Playgirl magazine, he said, ‘Why don’t I just retire and become your bitch?’ and there’s a picture I have of him acting like my bitch in a pose, so it backs up the story.”

Other interesting tales related in the book include his mother’s stint as a spy in World War II, his uncle’s partnership with gangster Bugsy Segal and his work as a monster named “Blister Face” on a Saturday morning kids’ show for Disney.

“What I’m hoping for most of all in my book that there’ll be about 120 ‘Holy shit! I didn’t know that!’. When people read about my family history, they’re gonna take a severe dump in their pants.”

Jeremy also noted that, “I’m getting some offers from independent film production companies to pay me a decent-size option for a possible movie based on the book. From some good, decent-size players, too. We’re not talking little tiddlywinks, we’re talking about some major people.”

Whether or not advance copies of the book will be available in time for dissemination at the 2007 Adult Entertainment Expo in January remains to be seen, Jeremy said, but he did comment that, “The p.r. people of the show are aware of the book, and vice versa.” He also boasted that, “It’s already pre-sold I think close to 30,000 copies, so it’s pretty good.”

Director Mark Ashley signs contract with Elegant Angel

Friday, September 15th, 2006

060915-003.jpgAdult production company Elegant Angel has announced that veteran performer, Mark Ashley, will now direct exclusively for the company. Ashley is currently finishing his first production, Teen Machine, with a cast including Lexi Belle, Adriana Faust, Celena Cross, Evelyn Lin, and Ryan Reynolds.

Ashley said that on the horizon is a three-way series, featuring two girls and a guy, as well as an all-anal line.

Ashley has been a constant feature as male talent in William H.’s movies for Elegant Angel. He’s starred in some of the studio’s most successful lines, Big Wet Asses, Swallow My Squirt, and Flower’s Squirt Shower. The company said that it was a natural extension to let him direct for Elegant Angel.

“I shot Mark in a scene with Lela Star in May and I could see that he really cared about getting the girls off,” said company owner Patrick Collins. “That’s what I love and what this company has always been about.

“The movies that Mark has shot in the past really focused upon high production values, clean camera work, good casting, quality outfits, and chemistry between performers. It’s rare to come across directors with as much potential as he has.”

Jules Jordan Video signs Director Alexander DeVoe

Friday, September 15th, 2006

060915-002.jpgDirector turned manufacturer Jules Jordan has expanded his director arsenal at Jules Jordan Video with the signing of Alexander DeVoe to an exclusive distribution deal. DeVoe’s Black Angel Productions joins Mike John Productions on the roster and, like John, DeVoe will own his own product.

DeVoe had been working exclusively as a director for West Coast Productions. An African-American with a considerable output of black on black and interracial titles, he is sure to give Jordan’s new company considerable clout in the rapidly expanding market for such product.

“I think Alexander is the top ethnic director for sure, if not one of the top directors in the business,” told Jordan. “He’s the best at what he does with black girls and interracial. He’s one who understands the genre. He will be shooting ethnic and multi-ethnic titles here, and we will give him the widest distribution possible.

“I was aware of his work at West Coast,” he continued, “and his attention to detail is what really struck me. I like directors that are meticulous in the presentation of the female talent even before the sex starts. Alexander puts all the elements together perfectly.”

DeVoe has been active in the adult industry for seven years. “I set out a long time ago to change the way people view black stuff,” he told, “even though that’s not all I shoot. There was a big part of the market that wasn’t being served, and that was the high-end product that people wanted to see.

“At West Coast I had the opportunity to experiment with a lot of different type of stuff. Anything that was going on inside my mind, I tried to make it come to life. My company was 100% responsible for everything that went into my movies, from conception to completion.”

He added that he shot “about 14 different titles” for WCP, including Erotica X, Black Ass Candy, She Got Azz, Sistas on the Wild Side. “I became a big part of their release schedule.”

He said he told Jordan during their initial talks, “When you get me, you’re getting something that is very unique within the industry.

“I feel like I’ve laid down a foundation for other people to follow me and make it easier for them to do what I do,” he added. “Through Jules Jordan I’ll be able to reach and connect with a lot more people.”

Brea Lynn signs deal with Vivid

Friday, September 15th, 2006

060915-001.jpgTwenty-year-old Phoenix dancer and former student nurse, Brea Lynn, has been signed as the newest Vivid Girl.

Lynn admits to knowing very little about the adult entertainment business.

“Though I’ve been interested in it for some time, I’ve never shot anything and never even been on a set,” she said. “Vivid is making it an easy transition for me. Everyone I’ve met at the company was not only nice, but very caring about me. I feel as if I’m getting ready for my next big adventure.”

She will go into production for her first Vivid Entertainment movie starting October 10. The feature will be directed by Paul Thomas.

Lynn, who has measurements of 32DD-24-34, was attending nursing school and dancing part time when she was discovered by her agent who got her interested in modeling. Several top photographers shot pictures of her and the photos were brought to Vivid. Co-chairman Steven Hirsch set up a meeting with her and soon after invited her to join the company.

She describes her personality as outgoing, fun loving and a bit goofy. She says she loves dancing and hopes to continue in between making movies for Vivid.

“I love to go on stage and like to impress and please people with my pole tricks,” she said. “I’ve had a few memorable experiences, including one time when one of my tricks didn’t quite work and I fell off the stage and landed on a table. The guys who were sitting there were a bit startled, but happily, I wasn’t hurt and just jumped back on stage. I actually made more money than usual that evening.”

On the subject of dating, Lynn says that she likes men who are confident. “If they show confidence in themselves, they’ll also be confident in their lovemaking,” she added.

Lynn’s deal with Vivid is exclusive. Other terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Sportsheets Video Clips banned by Google, YouTube

Friday, September 1st, 2006

060901-002.jpgPopular video websites Google and YouTube during the past week have removed several promotional video clips uploaded by adult novelty manufacturer Sportsheets International. Both sites claim the clips were in violation of their editorial policies, despite the content’s lack of nudity.

Sportsheets began posting seven clips from its new Sportsheets Demonstration DVD on several sites last week, including Google and YouTube, the two sites that have deemed some of the clips as inappropriate content.

The clips in question, which contain no nudity or graphic sexual content in keeping with what Sportsheets calls its “couples-friendly orientation,” feature models Sarge Logan and Alektra Blue dressed in sexy lingerie while demonstrating the range of possibilities Sportsheets’ products offer. The models never remove their clothes.

“Our products are made to be used by couples, and the decision to buy our products will be made by couples,” said Todd Carter, Sportsheets’ director of sales and marketing..

“Women tend to be the decision makers when couples shop together, and we were careful to keep them in mind while making this DVD. For a variety of reasons, overt sexuality or even just nudity can make some women apprehensive about purchasing an adult novelty, and so we tend to avoid that, even on our packaging.”

Carter said the presentation mixes humor with informative tips and suggestions that are designed to inform distributors, retail staff, home-party organizers, and consumers about the products Sportsheets offers.

“We teach you how to use our products and the advantages of these products, but we do it in a fun and exciting way.”

The DVD contains seven segments, each featuring one of Sportsheets’ most popular intercourse-and-restraint items. Sportsheets converted each segment into a video clip and began the uploading process this past week. “Given the Internet’s ability to reach a mass audience, it seemed like a logical step,” said Carter.

Carter went on to say he was surprised when Google last week removed from Google Video a segment promoting the Super Sex Sling, just three hours after the clip had been uploaded. “We didn’t even advertise it, and we had a crazy response for about three hours. Then it was pulled down.

“They said it was inappropriate content, which is weird because none of our clips contains any nudity. I guess they thought of people having fun in their bedrooms is inappropriate,” Carter continued.

Google Video informed Sportsheets in an email that the video “was rejected because it didn’t comply with our editorial policies.”

Sportsheets appealed the removal of the clip, arguing that its clip did adhere to Google’s editorial policy, which requires that videos uploaded to the Google Video service not contain pornographic, nude, or obscene material; that the subject matter in the video must not be illegal, not contain invasions of personal privacy, and not promote hate or incitement of violence or contain graphic violence or other acts resulting in serious injury or death; and that the party uploading the video holds all pertinent legal rights to do so.

Google responded to Sportsheets’ appeal by citing the clause that prohibits “videos that include pornography or obscenity, or direct users to such content.” Sportsheets pointed out that its clip violated none of the aforementioned concerns.

At this point, Google invited Sportsheets to resubmit their clip, which they did. Sportsheets also uploaded the six other clips, only to have all seven clips rejected.

Carter finds YouTube’s decision to ban clips featuring the Doggie Style and G-Spot Link especially confusing in light of the site’s decision to allow clips promoting The Sportsheet and Under The Bed Restraints. “There’s no substantial difference between the clips other than the novelties which are being showcased, and no reason to construe any of the clips as obscene or pornographic.”

Sportsheets previewed a rough cut of the DVD at last month’s Adult Novelty Expo. “We received a lot of positive feedback and a lot of pre-orders for the DVD,” Carter said. “I know that some of the retailers are planning on putting a TV near their Sportsheets stock so that they can play the DVD for their customers, and that’s something that we believe will definitely increase sales.”

Carter said that educating both sales staff and consumers has long been a key to Sportsheets’ success. “On the sales side, we have always believed that if you know how to use our products, you can sell our products.

“On the consumer side, we feel that if you know how our products can help spice up your sex life, you’ll want to own our products,” he said.

The DVD will also be bundled with some of Sportsheets’ products, beginning with the Super Sex Sling and The Sportsheet. .

Sportsheets said that it intends to host an official screening party for the DVD at the International Lingerie Show in October.

South Korea’s first Sex Expo met with protests

Friday, September 1st, 2006

060901-0011.jpgSouth Korea’s first ever sex expo opened despite protests in the country’s capital Thursday. The four-day event, however, was without its planned lingerie fashion shows and striptease displays.

The 2006 Seoul Sex Education Expo, dubbed “Sexpo,” has sparked controversy in the ultra conservative country where public discussions of sex have long been taboo due to its strong Confucian values.

According to NewsCom, “organizers originally planned to stage striptease and lingerie shows, as well as educational seminars and exhibitions of sex toys and erotic underwear during the event.

“In the face of strong protests, mainly by women’s rights organizations, the organizers cancelled strip and lingerie shows that had been scheduled to open the event.”

Organizers told NewsCom that the cancellations were also because of a visa mix-up; the foreign models and performers arrived in South Korea with tourist, rather than entertainment visas. Foreigners in South Korea are not allowed to perform in any shows without entertainment visas.

“The event is primarily focused on educational programs rather than the sensational exposure of sex, and provides sex education,” Park Seung-gak, the expo’s main organizer, told NewsCom.
